Thanks and Acknowledgements

The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt acknowledges the generosity of Mrs Jenny Bowker.  Jenny's loan of part of her large collection of khayamiah makes possible the Exhibition of the Tentmakers of Sharaa Al Khayamiah.

The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt acknowledges the generous collaboration of Canberra Quilters in their support for the visit of Mr Hany El Sayed and Mr Ekramy Hanafy and the Quilters loan of display frames.

The Embassy of Egypt acknowledges the support of Centenary of Canberra Windows to the World and in particular, the support of Ms Vivien Mitchell - Senior Partnerships Manager and Ms Katriina Kancans - Partnership Production Officer.

In preparing this weblog, Jenny Bowker has made all of the images contained in her Flikr gallery available for use.  Jenny's gallery, which shows an extensive range of tentmaker work and illustrates many of the examples given in this website, can be accessed at http://www.flickr.com/photos/jennybowker/

This weblog has also drawn extensively on the images collated by Kim Beamish on his Facebook page.  Kim Beamish is an Australian film maker who is currently making a crowd-funded documentary about the tentmakers. Kim's film is titled The Tentmakers of Chareh El-Khiamiah and it is anticipated that the film will be released in 2014.

The work of Dr Sam Bowker, Lecturer in Art History and Visual Culture at Charles Sturt University has also been accessed.  Dr Bowker is currently curating an exhibition in Wagga Wagga, titled Khayamiya: Khedival to Contemporary which spans work from the late Ottoman period to the present day.  The exhibition will travel Australia.

Images and information from a range of other websites and galleries have also been accessed.
